While
much of the western focus on yoga is on the physical practices, the
original focus of yoga was and still is strongly a practice for mind and
spirit. This section of the website examines practices, ideas and
practices which enhance connection of mind and spirit with those of the
body.
Meditation
- Meditation has been
practiced in various ways across the globe over centuries.
Some of the questions addressed in this section include:
- What is meditation and how
do you do it?
- What various techniques
exist?
- How have different cultures
or traditions used it?
- What are some of the
benefits?

Spirituality
Yoga
is said to help create a union with God. This section discusses some
of the spiritual aspects of yoga, as well as spiritual topics in other
traditions. Some of the areas planned include:
- What is spirituality?
- How does yoga enhance
spirituality?
- What is prayer and how does
it work?
- What are practical benefits
of a spiritual practice?

Deliberate
Creation
You
have heard the phrase “we create our own reality” associated with New
Age philosophy, but it is a tenet of yoga, one of the oldest schools of
thought. We will explore a variety of questions, including:
- Do our thoughts, words and
actions shape our existence?
- If they do, how can we
deliberately use them to create that which we desire?
- What is the role of our
intentions?
- How do we keep from creating
things that we don't want?
- What are some practical
exercises for deliberate creation and manifesting?

Philosophy
The
physical movements and breathing techniques are just a part of the yogic
traditions. Often, yoga
practitioners will become more and more interested in the philosophy of
yoga as they go more deeply into their practices. Some of the topics
that we have planned for this section include:
- Is yoga a religion?
- Does yoga fit in with or
contradict other religions?
- What are the guidelines for
living that yoga teaches?
- How can these guidelines be
interpreted in modern life?
- What are the original
sources or texts that yoga comes from?
- Where can I learn more about
these resources?

Intuition
Intuition is said to be a sense of inner
knowing without an outside source of information. The following
areas are explored in this section:
-
What is
intuition?
-
How can
intuition improve your life?
-
How to
improve intuition.
