Yoga

Hatha yoga is a series of physical movements complemented by breathing exercises, meditation, healthful eating and positive
thinking which can provide dozens of physical, mental and
spiritual benefits. As
a certified and registered yoga teacher, I can help you learn yoga techniques that will enhance
your body's natural ability to heal and balance itself. I can also
help you to navigate through the many yoga

available, as well as other information, products and services which will
complement a healthy and happy lifestyle.
Information
for Beginners & Experienced Yoga Practioners
This
website provides an overview of the types of Hatha yoga (the physical
movements or postures) and provides some tips and precautions on yoga
for beginners.
For more experienced students, there is a wide array of yoga resources
which will help you to deepen your practice and reach your own personal
goals.
Also
included are techniques that can add even more benefits to the practice of
yoga. These techniques include meditation,
breathing
practices, and
a section on the spiritual side of yoga, if one is inclined toward that
path. Yoga can be practiced by anyone, no matter what their
spiritual beliefs are, and I provide information on how individuals of
differing beliefs have successfully incorporated yoga into their lives.
Balanced Living and
Holistic Health
Yoga
creates and powerful and positive connection between your emotional and
physical health. As you know, the various lifestyle choices we make,
including the foods that we eat, our activities and very importantly our
thoughts and beliefs all impact our mental and physical health. Balanced
living provides a look at all the components that need to be
balanced in to enjoy good health and well-being. I have provided
information on holistic
health techniques based on traditional yoga teachings and
modern day medical experts' opinions and interpretation of research
studies, as well as other areas of information complementary to yoga.
I include reviews of various
books on the subject and also provide information on vitamins
and supplements.
Yoga Philosophy and
Spirituality
Yoga
also teaches that the individual is empowered to affect change in his or
her own life. The yoga
philosophy is taught in many metaphysical and
psychological schools of thought, and there are examples of specific ways
to practice this philosophy herein. In addition, there is a
section which explores the
spiritual side of yoga as well as other forms of spiritual
exploration.

As
yoga gains in popularity, there becomes an increasing number of resources
available on yoga. I have provided my recommendations on choosing
various yoga products and resources such as books, videos, tapes and
equipment based on my use of these items as a teacher. It is not
that one item is necessarily inherently "better" than another,
it is more a question of making the right match between a user and the
product based on interest, goals, experience and tastes.
